Billing and Wallet
How to deposit funds
Top up your ByteDC wallet: the steps, the payment methods, and how long confirmation takes.
What this is
The steps to put money into your ByteDC wallet so you can confirm an order.
Before you start
You need a verified ByteDC account, and your company billing details entered under Account if you need the deposit to appear on a company record.
Decide how much to deposit before you start. If you are not sure, use the Pricing Calculator to price the service you intend to order, then deposit at least that amount plus a buffer.
Steps
Step 1. Open your wallet

Step 4. Choose a payment method
Select how you want to pay.
Content pending: the confirmed list of accepted payment methods and the settlement time for each is being finalised with the ByteDC commercial team. This section will name each method and how long it takes to confirm.
Step 5. Complete the payment
Follow the instructions for the method you chose and complete the payment.
Step 6. Confirm it arrived
Return to the Wallet page. Your deposit appears in Deposit history, and once it has settled your balance increases by the amount you deposited.

What you should see when it works
Your new deposit is listed in Deposit history with the date, the amount and the method. Your balance has increased by that amount. The updated balance also shows on the Dashboard.
You can now confirm a quotation into an order. See Placing your first order, start to finish.
How long confirmation takes
Confirmation time depends entirely on the payment method. Instant methods reflect in your balance within minutes. Bank transfers take longer because they settle on the bank's schedule, not on ByteDC's.
A deposit that has been received but not yet settled shows in Deposit history before it shows in your balance. That is the normal sequence, not an error.
Common problems
I paid but the balance has not moved. Look at Deposit history first. If the deposit is listed, it is in progress and will settle. If it is not listed at all after a bank transfer, ByteDC has not received it yet, so keep your transfer reference and contact support with it.
I deposited the wrong amount. Deposits add to your balance rather than being tied to a specific order, so a deposit that is too small is fixed by depositing the difference. Extra balance stays in your wallet for future use.
I need a receipt for accounting. Deposit history is your record of what was paid and when. For a formal invoice against a purchase, the proforma invoice issued when you confirm an order is the document your finance team needs.
