Logging in and finding your way around the portal
A map of the ByteDC cloud portal: what every sidebar item does and where to find each product.
What this is
A map of the ByteDC cloud portal. Read this once and you will know where everything lives, which saves you hunting through menus later.
The portal is the single place where you order services, pay for them, and manage what you are running.
Before you start
You need a verified ByteDC account. If you do not have one yet, start with How to create your ByteDC account.
The top bar
Three things sit across the top of every page:
Search. Searches resources, settings and documentation together. This is the fastest way to reach a specific page.
Quick Deploy. A shortcut that skips the browsing step and takes you straight to launching a service.
Your account menu. Your name and initials in the top right corner. Sign out, and account settings, live here. The bell next to it shows notifications such as order confirmations and provisioning updates.

The main sidebar
These eight items are your account and commercial tools. They apply across every product.

The product groups
Below the main sidebar the products are grouped by what they do. Any product labelled Soon is announced but not yet orderable.
Compute. Servers and container platforms.
VPS Lite (Soon)
Cloud Server
Cloud Workstation (Soon)
Kubernetes (Soon)
Networking. Split into three parts. Connectivity holds Networks, NAT Gateway, Private DNS and VPN. Traffic holds Load Balancer, and EIP and Bandwidth. Security holds Security Groups and Firewall.
Storage. Object Storage.
Data. Managed Database (Soon).

What you should see when it works
You can sign in, and you can name what each of the eight main sidebar items does without clicking into it. You can find any product group by expanding Compute, Networking, Storage or Data.
Common problems
A product I want is greyed out and says Soon. It is on the roadmap but not yet available to order. Nothing is wrong with your account.
I can see a product but the page says it is not available on my account level. This is deliberate. Some services need to be unlocked by the sales team before you can order them. Use Contact Sales on that page, and see Requesting evaluation access if you would rather trial it first.
Evaluation Access takes me to a different site. That is expected. Evaluation Access is a request form, not a product page, so it hands you off to the form and back again.
